You remind me of a man –

Everyone ought to know that the exchange:

You remind me of a man.
What man?
The man with the power.
What power?
The power of hoo-doo.
Hoo-doo?
You do!
Do what?
You remind me of a man!

. . . features in the classic 1947 film The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer, starring Cary Grant, Myrna Loy, and Shirley Temple.

I’m not certain that it originated there, but there it is. Long before David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly burned the thing into the minds of my generation.
