Kelly Sue DeConnick and Matt Fraction are organizing a counter-movement to Fred Phelps’s proposed picket of San Diego Comic Con by the Westboro Baptist Church.
It’s not a confrontation, or a protest. Instead, Kelly Sue and Matt and everyone else who is interested are making donations to amfAR, the HRC, or their local gay-friendly organization in Fred Phelps’s name, should he and his ilk show up.
You don’t need to be at SDCC to donate. Others will report, and we can all donate. Follow the news on Twitter using the hastag #godlovesbatman.
Perhaps Mr. Phelps can be the biggest single contributor to amfAR in 2010.
That is making lemonade out of lemons, indeed.
