I have the worst sense of taste.
Really, it’s because I have a terrible sense of smell. My sinuses are always and eternally clogged, and I don’t taste things very well as a result. But over the course of my adult life my sense of taste is increasing after the nadir of college.
I stopped smoking after college.
I quit caffeine two years ago, and have reintroduced decaffeinated drinks in moderation.
I am eating low-salt foods.
I mostly don’t eat refined or over-processed foods or junk food.
All of this has conspired to give me a sense of taste. I noticed that this morning, sipping my decaf Earl Grey without any milk or sugar. I can taste it.
