Eleven years ago I worked the mid shift, so I got off of work at 5:30 on that Tuesday morning.
I was at home, asleep, when my coworkers landed every plane in the country in forty-five minutes. More or less.
On Friday, September 14th, when I went back to work for my regular shift, military planes were flying above all the major cities in the country.
The scopes were dark and empty, except for the circling jets.
