1. Baked Kale Chips:

Preheat your oven to 325 F.

Take out a jelly roll tray, or baking sheet with a lip around it. Take one bunch of kale. tear or cut (I use scissors) the kale from the central stem. Tear or cut the kale into chip-sized pieces — whatever you think a good size for a chip is. Mix the kale with a drizzle of olive oil — less than a tablespoon, maybe? Lay the kale on your baking sheet. Salt and pepper your kale.

Put the tray in the oven for about ten minutes. Take out. Eat.

2. The weather here warmed up enough to have snow, ice storms, sleet, and freezing rain. Which is now all going to freeze solid overnight.

3. I’m starting Month of Letters early. But the first letter went to my grandmother, who I owed a letter to ANYWAY.

4. The kids’ skating lessons are pretty fun to watch. I also like that they are already better skaters than I ever have been in my entire life.

The purpose of parenting is to give to the world two young adults who are better-prepared for adulthood that I was at their age.
