Uncanny Magazine Year One Kickstarter

Just last week I was publicly wishing for more SF/F/H short fiction venues. Paying venues.

The single most painful part of my job as editor of Apex Magazine is that I have to reject really good stories. Apex has a budget, and we have limited space, and we simply do not have ROOM to publish all the stories I want to publish.

These are good writers, and good works, and I want them to find a home.

This, by the way, is the list of SFWA-qualifying markets for short fiction.

Soon there will be a new SFWA-qualifying short fiction market. Lynne and Michael Thomas, the former editors of Apex, are starting a new magazine, Uncanny. They are running a Kickstarter to get their operating cost for the first year.

Here’s the Kickstarter page.

If you want another market for short SF/F/H fiction, why not see if you can throw a few bucks their way?
